Focusing on issues relevant to the Hip Hop Generation, the Hip Hop Theater Festival presents a live event created by artists who stretch, invent and combine a variety of theatrical forms, including theater, dance, spoken word and live music sampling. Hip-Hop Theater has grown into one of the most influential outlets showcasing hip-hop performing arts in the country.

Electro-jazz cellist/composer Dana Leong fuses hip hop, jazz and electronics to create a signature boundless sound. Often referred to as a “hi-def Yo-Yo-Ma,” Dana has revolutionized the cello with his cutting edge amplification, lyrical melodies, and collage of jazz textures and improvisations.

Creation or Evolution? In one of the most famous trials in history, John Scopes, a high school biology teacher, was arrested and put on trial for violating a state law that prohibited teaching evolution in public schools. Attorney Robert Caprera revisits the Scopes trial and offers his opinion about its modern ramification on the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin and the 150th Anniversary of the publication of Darwin’s book, The Origin of Species.

Sicko, produced by Michael Moore, profiles several ordinary Americans whose lives have been disrupted, shattered, and—in some cases—ended, by health care catastrophe. Sicko puts the current health care system in the spotlight.

End of Patient’s Rights, a short documentary created by the Conservatives for Patients’ Rights, focuses on the healthcare debate, examining the experiences of people in the United Kingdom and Canada who are forced to fight against their own government to get necessary medical care.
